On October 8th, an interview was conducted for Netflix's anticipated original series 'Squid Game 2' at a quaint café nestled in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. During this session, Park Sung-hoon humbly bowed his head, acknowledging, "I extend my apologies to everyone affected by my significant misstep."
With a heavy heart, Park Sung-hoon articulated his concerns, "Participating in this interview fills me with concern that my error might have impacted others associated with the project. Critique me as you see fit, but I hope the work is received with warmth and understanding," he expressed, tears brimming his eyes.
He delved deeper into the circumstances surrounding his accidental upload of the adult-themed cover of 'Squid Game 2' on social media, saying, "It was a time of active engagement from viewers following the release of 'Squid Game 2.' The controversial image appeared in a direct message just before I was about to step out. My initial reaction was one of displeasure, and I intended to report it to the appropriate person, but it inadvertently got posted in the process. That day felt surreal, as if influenced by an unforeseen force. I promptly deleted it and refrained from watching the video. Some speculate that I might have attempted to share it on a secondary account, but I assure you, I only possess one account." He continued, "I sincerely apologize once more for creating a situation that could spark controversy during these challenging times."
In the meantime, on the last day of the previous month, Park Sung-hoon had uploaded and subsequently removed a poster mimicking an adult video with a 'Squid Game' theme on his social media. BH Entertainment addressed the incident, stating, "The post was mistakenly shared while checking a direct message." As the issue continued to garner attention, BH Entertainment elaborated, "Park Sung-hoon received the adult video cover via a direct message and, upon recognizing its inappropriateness, aimed to forward it to a company representative. During this process, he downloaded the photo and should have erased it after sending it to the representative, but it was inadvertently uploaded instead."
